Sadly I can’t remember the day. My dad is the smart man standing to the left of the impromptu flag pole. I am the little girl at the very bottom of the photograph.

I lived at number 1 Porlock Road ( which I think is the house you can see in the background, because I’m thinking that the tables were set out at 14 opposite number 16 where my friends lived). Sadly I only moved in there when I was 5 in 1962. I loved my childhood there. So many friends and happy memories. The lady looking towards the camera closer to the front of photo looks like Yvonne Harrison who lived on Sidlaw but can’t be sure. Very good friends to our family she was the mother of 7 girls, all very good friends of mine.
Please can you tell me which ones are Alf & Irene. My husband Bob Bell (different Bell family) lived at number 14 but I was friends with Alf & Irene in their later life. My late father in law (also called Alf Bell) is on the photo but not my mother in law (Lily)
I recall the Coronation, I was 5 years old, but born and lived in Thornaby-on-tees, I am now 75 still going strong, I remember the street party and races in the street.
I loved at 1 Porlock Road from when I was about 5 till I was about 10. Many happy memories there. Is that photo taken from the other side of the road? If so that was our house in the background. Unfortunately I lived there later than 1953. I was born in 1957.
I lived next door at No 3. Was your maiden name Gill? The photo was taken on our side, my dad is to man stood on the wall. It was a great day, I remember it, even though I was only five. I can also name most of the people in the photograph.

I remember your family now. Amazing how one photo can bring so many people and memories to mind. Was your mum called Pat?
Yes my mam was Pat
You’re roughly the same age as my big brother Greg Barbara
