  1. Can anybody name two players in the same team in the same season like Benny Brown (111 goals) & Eddie Wilkinson (127 goals) did at South Bank Juniors in the eariy 50s, both Stockton Lads.

    • The names after nearly 80 years are are difficult to remember, the ages of that team were 12 years to fifteen years and as I recall Back Row Sydney Hopper, Brian Whiteside, Earnie Lonnie, Eric Barnes John Grainger, Jimmy Summers, ? Front Row Les Mitchell, Charlie Peacock, Benny Brown,? ?, Norman Trenholm, Whiteside, Lonnie and Barnes were part of the “S” class system which allowed students to remain in school to take their School Certificate which was denied to the normal Secondary Modern School students who had to leave school at 15 years of age to join the workforce. Most of these “S” class students became Teachers, Jimmy Summers became a Head Master before his untimely death at a very young age. Three of the team gained their Stockton Boys Caps namely the three S class students. Later Newham Grange had many players who were Capped in the Stockton schools teams such as Les Mitchell Charlie Peacock Benny Brown, Trevor Briggs, Ray Frost, Ducka Banks, Denis Grubb, Trevor Cockerill, Denis Thwaites and many more who were called up to the Representative team over the following Years. Happy Memories.
