  1. Stuart Graham”s Great grandfather was, I believe, James Graham Snr, his grandfather James Graham Jnr and his father was James Graham Mnr. Mr Graham Snr was a dear old gentleman. He had a prewar Morris car which was laid up during the war but brought into action again after the war. He took us for the occasional country ride (we once even reached a breathless 40 mph) I can still remember the delicious smell of old leather seats (I have cars with leather seats but they don”t have that smell) This must have been the car that Ann George”s mother experienced.

  2. MY MOTHER, ANN GEORGE, WORKED FOR STUART GRAHAMS GREAT GRANDFATHER. I LIVE IN VANCOUVER CANADA WITH MY MOTHER ANN GEORGE AND CAME UPON THIS SITE BY ACCIDENT AND CAN”T KEEP OUT! MY MOTHER HAS TOLD ME SOME WONDERFUL STORIES WHILE I FEED HER ALL THE INTERESTING STORIES VERBALLY OVER THE TELEPHONE WHILE VIEWING THE PICS, AS SHE DOES NOT HAVE A COMPUTER, AND SHE ASKED ME TO SEARCH FOR GRAHAMS WHERE SHE WORKED. SHE TOLD ME A STORY OF THE SUNDAY OUTING MR. GRAHAM TOOK SOME OF HIS STAFF ON IN ONE OF HIS FANCY CARS! SHE REALLY ADMIRED MR.GRAHAM AND REMEMBERS HIS GRANDSON WELL. MR. GRAHAM GAVE MY MOTHER A SPECIAL COAT WHEN SHE LEFT FOR CANANDA BACK IN 1957. WE ARE HOPING TO VISIT STOCKTON SOON WITH MY TWO BOYS. WHAT A RICH FULL LIFE MY MOTHER HAD IN STOCKTON. POOR YES, BUT VERY RICHLY FILLED WITHREAL LIFE STUFF. I THINK SHE MISSES IT SO AND THIS SITE HELPS HER GET A LITTLE DOSE WITH EACH TIME I EXPLORE THE MEMORIES WITH HER. 3. I remember Stuart Graham”s great grandfather – he lived opposite us on Brisbane Grove,Hartburn. His son lived in Hartburn Village and Stuart”s father must be a contemporary of mine (I went to his birthday parties) Graham”s was a classic ladies outfitters – I suppose like a lot of classy shops it couldn”t cope with the ruin of Stockton High Street in the 60″s. I am glad to think the firm still exists. Paul Dee

  4. My Great Grandfather owned this shop. Mr Grandfather passed it on to his son my father. I started work for the family business when we moved from Finkle street to Bishopton Road, Stockton.
