This bridge was erected to allow the Bishopmill Watermill’leat’ run from Billingham Beck (Calf-Fallow) to the mill (1 mile ) when the Clarence- Railway raised an embankment to pass across the ‘Beck’ 1830s. The Tunnel was blocked in the 1950s, due to erosion and safety.
