William the Fourth Yard included in a general view of the derelict buildings at the rear of the east side of Stockton High Street just South of William the Fourth Yard c1967. Demolished 1968.

Bob was right, it’s a view of the rear of Doggarts, the Unicorn Hotel and William IV Hotel. The demolition had truncated Black Bull Yard, Unicorn Yard, Dalton’s Yard and William the Fourth Yard. I believe this picture is at the back of Moat Str. & Wharfe Str. On the other side of the fence was the path leading to St. Johns Crossing. Not shown in the picture was the railway line from the Corporation Quay to St. Johns Crossing. There was no fence any where near the river at back of vane Arms Black Lion etc.
I think that on the left of this picture is therear corner of the Doggarts store. If I rember correctly the little garage belonged to the public house next door. I still think this is the rear of 71, 70,& 69 high St The Stables belonging to the William the IV Hotel on the extream right.
