Hello Anne Marie. My name is Sandra Dover and am a retired teacher in Rotherham. I went to the old Mandale infants school and Mandale Junior school. Left in 1963 to go to Robert Atkinson County Modern school. Regards Sandra Dover
I went to the old infant and junior schools. I had Mrs Theakston, Mr Storey, Miss Dixon and Miss Kidd, Mr Wright was the headteacher. We had separate boy/girl playgrounds and didn’t think to mind about it, tuck shop with the best cheap squash and the MOST AWESOME school plays. I remember getting my copy of the hymn book in 4th year and feeling so grown up… happy memories ☺️
I remember going here I had Mrs kidd and Mr Storey and Mr Thornton, still see him. My kids also when her when it was Mrs Doram Smith. Hated her, shame it’S going to be knock down soon
I went to the Mandale school in 1968 and my English teacher was Mr Mankin, the best Teacher I ever had. At Christmas we were allowed to paint Christmas scenes on the windows. My best friend was Karen Lee, I lived at 34 Humber Road. There were two sisters called Jane and Denise Wardel I think, it was a long time ago
Ohh my goodness this pic brings back memories…queuing at the from doors for the disco… buying sweets off the tuckshop in the other yard. My brother Jonathan Clarke getting his head stuck in the rather wide bars??! haha. Going to Roberts candy shop before going into school to get my qtr of pear drops haha Mrs Busby was my teacher don’t remember many others….went to Mandale nursery/infants and juniors then onto Basstleton
This is Mandale Junior School as was, now amalgamated with Mandale Infant School and called Mamdale Mill Primary. The front yard which was used as our playground is the staff car park. I went to this school when Mr John Wright was the Head and then on to The ‘Bassy’. Both schools are to be demolished and replaced with one school in the next 18 months.
I went there and loved it, I wish I was back. I remember old Mr. Right and the new Mr Right and my kids went there too, with the new new Mr Right … lol
I lived across the road from this school in Beechwood Road and went there and then on to the ‘robby ack’ which was even closer to my house. Keith (Tagger) Taylor
From the days when it was Mandale Juniors, the 12 hour discos and the bars that were so wide you could squeeze through them anyway; I remember a competition for a anti-graffti picture which would be used for the schools. All the kids drew a picture and I think it was a girl with a surname Dixon? who won it the picture was made into signs and put up around local schools; if you look on the main wall of the “the juniors” you can see where it was glued up about 20 years ago but the sign is long gone; dunno why I remember that.
The front playground seems to be a car park now; always remember two teachers from here, Mr Duke just because he was so laid back he could of been sleeping and Mr Thornton because he was a pretty scary fella, I was devastated when I got put in his class!
I left the juniors in 1971 Mr Wright was the head master but before him it was I think Mr Buckingham. I also remember Mr Shephard, Mrs Freeman and Miss Britton they were happy days. I left to go to Arthur Head, a shock to the system. That was a very old fashioned school compared to the Mandale.

Hello Keith. I am Sandra Dover and I live in Rotherham. I went to Mandale infants school and Mandale Junior school then to Robbie Ack.

Mandale Infant and Mandale Junior schools amalgamated some time ago to become Mandale Mill Primary School.
I”m sorry to upset anybody but if you study the photo it has two storeys so it must be the juniors as the primary (infants) is a single storey.

I left to go to the Bassledon in 1971
I remember Mr shepherd, he was lovely.
