Stockton in Steam

Richard Trevithicks railroad in Euston Square in 1809, with his locomotive Catch me who can. At this time railways were very much in their infancy and engines frequently blew up! Catch me who can ran in circles round the track for public amusement.

  1. You have the date wrong.Trevithick used “Catch-Me-Who-Can” in 1808.Charged a shilling & the effort lasted 2 months.
