Stan The loco in the picture is 63346, the loco you mention 63395 was a regular through Roseworth until the end of steam & was preserved in 1967/68 by the North Eastern Loco Preservation Group, its presently being overhauled at Darlington but should be working on the North York Moors railway in 2007
Could have been. One of the delights of my childhood was lying in bed late at night at my house in Ragpath lane, listening to the chuffing of the freight trains as they worked their way up from Stockton to the Junction Road bridges. Most of the engines were Q6/Q7 or J56/J57
What a coincidence. I was just reading up on the Q6″s just the other day and read that the British Rail engine number 63395 it was the last Q6 to remain in service. I wonder if it was this one?
Engine No started off with 633**. I used to trainspot from that area including the nearby signal box and the bridge at Junction Road, where I could see the steam from the trains as they made their way up from Stockton.
The locomotive is an North Eastern Railway 0-8-0 design class T2 (better known as a British Railways Q6)
