I remember this in the 70″s. Walking home and spending my 5p bus money on sweets! The fountain didn”t work then. The green was beginning to look a bit ropey too. The pond”s paving was dirty and crumbling. The green was the site of some big scraps between kids from different schools.
It”s good to see the old duck pond come back to life. I remember as a child in the 60″s visiting the pond with my model yacht and NO fountain was working. Does anyone know when the old one stopped flowing? Good on you Norton ps The best chippy around is in Norton..
It looks beautiful. It was always nice on The Green and the fountain makes it even nicer.
Although experts from Tees Valley Wildlife Trust say the improvements will enhance life for the ducks as the increased air flow to the pond will improve the water quality I still like the old one more
