  1. Very fond memories of this school. I was there 1985/6-1992. Teachers I remember were Miss Chinchen, Mr Blackman, Mrs Smith, the head was Mrs Cornwall.

  2. No we didn’t live in a four bed house but we did live next door but one to the Abbots, I can remember Stephen Spayne, David Abbot. Norman Kett, who was one of the boys we girls used to go out and about with along with a few more that I can’t remember. I now live in Peterborough but my Mum ,Mary McKenzie, still lives in Hardwick and is now in her late eighties. Does anyone remember Cathrine Easby, her father was called Dave and she had one sister Mary? They also lived in Piper Knowle Rd a bit further down from us, she was a very good friend of mine but we have lost touch.

  4. I don’t remember your name but did you live in the four bedroomed houses near the Abbots? My brothers were Denis and Robert (sadly Robert died in 2004) and sister Diane who was 10 years younger than me and attended Hardwick School before going to Teesside High School.
The kids! playing out around the “hills” before the school was finished were June and Ann Donaldson, Norman Kett, David Abbott, Alan Dalkin, Derek and Colin Best, Stephen Spayne to name but a few, those were the days when summer holidays seemed to last for ever.

  5. We also lived in Piper Knowle Rd from about 1954, we lived at 237 along with Mam and Dad, John and Mary Mckenzie, my sisters Dot, Judith, Alison and my brother John. I can remember playing on what we called the hill before the school was built, good days. I don’t reconise your name can you remember any of us?

  6. What a sad sight to see the demolition of Hardwick Junior School. We lived opposite the school which was built in 1958 not as stated 1957, I know this because we moved into 261 Piper Knowle Road in July 1958 and they were just beginning to build the school, all the kids that lived opposite the school used to play on the building site, we made slides down the two large hills that had been made by the builders whilst digging out the foundations. My younger sister Diane attended the school and our mother was a dinner nanny for a number of years.
