Anyone remember Nigel Wardell from Oxbridge Infants and then church school?
My school upto 1969
Somebody has mentioned that this may be class J2 in 1957/58. If this is correct then I would be in this class at that time. Certainly some of the names mentioned are familiar. Ian Ross and Raymond Lamplugh, whose family owned Lamplugh’s Haberdashery shop a few hundred yards from the school on Oxbridge Lane ( now a sandwich bar )
Hi, my late father Ernest Walton (Ernie) attended this school around this time, I know he was in the school cricket team around 1956/7 as I have a school photo. Does anyone remember him please?
Anon, this class is more like 49/50/51 as I’m in the back row 1st left, and went on to R.H in 53.
Do the names Donald Proctor and Martin Devaney bring any memories to anyone….
If it’s the Devaney’s I knew of, they lived in Windsor Road, Oxbridge.
I think this is Junior 2 class in 1957 or 1958. Mrs Walker was the class teacher and she managed to teach over forty boys in the very small classroom that you can see in the photograph. If I am right about the class, year and teacher, then others in the class would have been Maurice Emerson, Paul Twizell, Robert Brown, Geoff Mulcaster, Richard Wilson, Raymond Lamplugh, Richard Johnson, Ian Ross, Geoff Cowley, John Dodsworth, Robert Klincke, Paul Stuart, Bryan Morris. They may not all be in this photograph as I can remember names better than faces. Apologies for any mistakes in the names.
The boy seated 4th from the right is the late Norman Howells & the boy in the second row standing 4th from the left is Ronnie Ainsley, he is the father of Jason the Spennymoor Football team manager.
