  1. Miss Manion is the lady seated far right, she was the Infant class Teacher until she retired. There was also Mrs West and Miss West. Marcel? standing far left and Irene standing third from left I am sorry to say my memory for their married names is absent, must be getting old. My wife Mrs Mee is standing second from the right.

    • No Frankie I can beat you on that one, Marcel is related to my family, I cant remember her name, but If comes back to me I will post 🙂 must be age thing

  2. I attended St Peter and Pauls and would have just left when this photo was taken …I can only remember Mr Wilson, Mr Glancy and, on the back row, Mrs Ripley..can someone please remind me of the name of the nursery teacher ??? was it Miss Manion

  3. Nearly right Anon, Sandra (Sam) and yes they all worked at Harkers before all moving to North Tees hospital. Janet worked for Harkers in the office for many years until its demise as a going concern. At one time they were all in Elton Hall which was set up as offices then moved back to Church Row. A lot of the heavy machinery went to China and what a pity that such a fine engineering company had to be dismantled, they had a workforce second to none. It is sad that Stockton once in the forefront of shipbuilding engineering and steel fabrication with names known worldwide is now a mere shadow of its former self. Progress? I think not.

  4. Mrs Mee was certainly a good roll model for her three daughters Janet, Margaret & Samantha(Sam)who were all good office staff at Harkers Engineering.

  5. Thanks for posting the photos. I was very saddened to hear about the death of Mr Glancey. I left St Peter and Pauls in 1964 having been taught by him in my final year. An excellent teacher, whom I remember him with great affection.

  6. Mr Glancy, Headmaster, is front centre with Miss Bell and Mrs Bell seated far left. My wife, Joan Mee, was school secretary and is standing second from right in the back row.
