The 1925 Centenary Celebrations. This image is taken from a glass negative in my collection showing one of the locos involved in the 1925 Railway Centenary Procession on Thursday 2nd July 1925 – the loco is NER class 901 2-4-0 number 910 & is exhibit 18 in the procession. The procession consisted of 54 locos/trains which worked from Stockton North Shore to Fighting Cocks & was watched by thousands of people along the route including those lucky enough to be in the grandstand area which was located between Goosepool & Urlay Nook. I’m unsure where the shot of 910 was taken but due to the houses in the background it must be in the Stockton area and I suspect it may be taken as the loco crosses Oxbridge Lane.
