The Range Rover’s registration puts the date at August 1983 earliest. Margaret Charlton owned the cafe which operated on the top floor and her scones, cakes and soups excelled. With her daughters she also ran a successful outside catering concern. They did an excellent feast for my oldest son’s 18th at the Oxbridge in 1984. Sadly Margaret died some years ago but she remains a friend in our thoughts.
I use to go there for a coffee.
