A woman can be seen sweeping the area in front of her house on Bridge Street, Yarm c1900.
I wonder how much control the residents of Yarm had over the building of this awesome railway viaduct structure, that suddenly began to dwarf their properties in the 1850’s? In the distance can be seen a white painted house that has a magnificent ‘trellis’-style portico to the front door…which is still in place. Obviously, they built ’em to last in those days!
