  1. On which road was the Holy Trinity Church? I remember two on the High Street one over the road from the Turks Head and the other down near the market.

  2. I had trouble believing my eyes when I saw the caption to this picture…HOLY TRINITY CHURCH!!!
One year ago this week, my son,Oliver and I made a visit to this now, very sad building. I was told by locals that it was arson, back in the 60’s? The reason for our visit was to find my Granddad, JAMES DUNCAN and any/all of his children. We found him and three of his offspring on the very last day, on our way home to Gloucester on the 30th July 2012.
I’d like to thank Picture Stockton for posting the picture, I had no idea it had been added to in 1906-the year of Granddads eldest Son another James, he, along with a few others I can find no trace of. My late cousin Alan Hughes (ex RAF and ICI) gave me a small amount of info in a visit to see him and brothers Peter and Tony.

    • Hi, it was interesting to read of your connection to Holy Trinity church, Stockton. just to let you know, my grandfather was married in this church back in 1903.

    • If I remember correctly the arson attack (which gutted the church) was sometime in the 1980’s. The Greek Orthodox Church had used the building prior to that.
