This advert is for John Smith 143, baker and confectioner which were established in 1845. Can’t you just imagine how nice that place must have smelt, bread, cakes, biscuits and chocolate! c1893

I knew an elderly gentleman called Albert Smith who was a baker. He lived at Thorpe Theweles and cycled to work in Stockton. I have no idea where albert worked but he was a lovely kind fellow who had family in Liverpool.
