  1. That’s why I look at Stockton now and its so sad the shops we had eg Jacksons, John Collier, Fosters, Ray Allens, Burtons, Grabhams (bigger than now). All mens clothes shops, while the ladies had there choice – bring back the old days I say !!!

  2. The first one was “the in scene” which was further down. (Chelsea Girl owned it) It had blacked out windows and loud music. I worked there round about1970 ish.

    • Hello Kath, I also worked at the In Scene late 70`s till 1981. The shop was originally Levans then was bought by Lewis Separates, they changed all of the stores into boutiques, some were named Chelsea Girl. The company now trades as River Island. The In Scene was a fashion shop where young girls could buy affordable trendy clothes. We eventually had a refit and got rid of the blacked out windows and loud music. Fond memories of my time there.
