  1. They were pulling down the old side of Stockton High Street down, now the Castlegate Centre, the re directed the traffic.

  2. SFC730 was a second hand acqusition from the City of Oxford Motor Services. It was an AEC Regal 4 with Willowbrook B42F bodywork new in 1952. It was acquired by Stockton Corporation in 1964 for driver training pending the delivery of new one-man-operated Leyland Panther single deckers due the following year. It is seen here in the interim livery of Turquoise but with Stockton fleetnames. This dates the picture to 1967 some months before the official creation of Teesside Municipal Transport on April 1st 1968, The picture must have been specially posed because (as stated in Cliff Thornton’s comment) it is on the wrong side of the road.

  3. Does anyone remember my father Jack Parvin ? He was a driver with Stockton Corporation/Cleveland transit during the 60’s to 80’s I think.
I remember two of his clippies, Aileen ? and Morris ? I would like to hear from anyone recall him.

  4. I wonder how far along the High Street the driver managed to get, on that side of the road !
