Phil Veitch became a very good athlete and I think he joined the local police force. I knew him through friendship with Alan Kitching who was a county high jumper and excellent goalkeeper.
Dave, Phil Veitch served an engineering apprenticeship at Head Wrightsons before joining the police force.
