Sorry for late reply as I have just seen the comments! I don’t remember a Juliet Wood. We were the middle class eg. 1A. There was Class 1 and 1 Alpha.
I am in touch with June Marwood from the top class who has contacts for others there.
Hi all
Just found this page. I am Lesley Holmes, shown in the photo. I remember so many of my class mates: Jean Hart, Rosemary Applegarth, Janet Roberts, Christine Watt etc etc. why did we all lose touch? Does anyone know where Jean Hart is? I’m still in Stockton, recently bereaved, and would so like to hear from anyone who remembers me and would like to meet up for a coffee and a walk down the Grangefield memory lane.

Hi Lesley. I was at GGS 1958-1964 and knew Janet Roberts (front row 2nd left) and Margaret Davies (front row extreme right); is that Cathy Watson behind Margaret? Val Fick (back row 2nd left) was a friend of my late wife’s cousin and I’m trying to make contact through her. Do you know what happened to any of these “old girls”?
Mike Baker
Geoff Crossley (GGS Boys ’59-66) – these girls were exact contemporaries of mine. Great memories. Janet Roberts (Roberts Fishmongers in town) lived across the street from me ; Val Fick I remember as always happy and smiling; Susan Maddison a good hockey player (rapped me on the ankles a few times in the Girls v Boys hockey match); Pam Little (think I had a “bit of a thing” for her) who used to travel in so far from Croft; Barbara Hogg (always attractive !); Jean Mowbray (lived almost at the top of my street); and is that Margaret Davies (ginger hair, front right)? You all may remember my sister Margaret (couple of years younger) who has extremely fond memories of the Girls’ School, now living in Rutland and married to an ex-British Lions rugby player. Happy days, and nice memories ! Love to you all, xxx
Hi Ann, your cousin Maureen, and my sister Pat Armstrong, were best friends in school. We moved to Australia in 1963, and my sister lost touch with Maureen.
After many years, Pat asked me, if I could help track down some of her school friends, and I initially made contact with a Cliff and Irene Thornton, and with their help we managed to track down many of my sisters friends.
Maureen was one of those friends. Her married name is Drought, and she lives in Ripon, in Yorkshire.
I have her e-mail address, which I can’t put on this site, but if you e-mail the Picture Stockton crew, and ask for my e-mail address I’m sure they will pass it on.
You can contact them at, pictures@stockton.gov.uk

Does anyone remember a Juliet Woods … attended until 1960 for sure … not certain which class she was in. I think Miss Millburn was the head at the time.
What year and class was this as think Maureen Coupe is in the second row. I was there from 60 to 65 in the alpha stream. Mr Casson was form teacher in first year. Barbara Philips nee Storer
The teacher was Mrs Lomas. My 1962 school magazine says she taught Latin and Scripture.
I have 3 black and white year photos and this one in colour so it must have been our 4th year. Class 4A from Sept 1962/1963.
Another name to fit to a face-Noeline Hodgson. Was Elizabeth Hunter in this photo?
Other names e.g. Christine Hindmarsh, Eileen Nugent – come back but it’s putting them with the right faces! Lesley Holmes is correct too. I’ll search and see if I can find a year and the teacher’s name.
Lovely to see this photo. I have one too!
After so many years my memory will need correcting and jogging but these are the names I think I remember.

Hi Hannah
Many thanks for your response which I hope will help with my search.
I now live away from the area so it’s difficult just to pop in so I’m reliant on the internet. Can I approve release of my email address to anyone responding to my enquiries please?
Mike Baker
Thank you Hannah for your help. I was going to request Mike’s e mail address but I hope you have helped him with his quest. Many thanks . Patricia Rendall
Hi, Mike. Hannah from the reference library has kindly sent a link to the post I mentioned. I hope this helps in your quest. I was just about to request your e mail address to send it to you!
Hi Pat
This seems a rather complicated way of communicating but I guess it’s a way of protecting recipients. Anyway I don’t mind you having my email address if we can contact each other directly. The Picture Stockton team will send my email to you.
That’s good , Mike. Fingers crossed you find those you are looking for. Sorry I haven’t contacts as I am not in the North East now. We are harder to find as we marry and change names! Pat
Thanks Pat much appreciated. I’ve done my share of moving between Teesside and Sheffield with my work in HR finally retiring and settling in the Peak District. No more shuffling for me after my wife died so I’m trying to make contact with old Grangefield people.
Mike
