  1. 1943. During the war, Thornaby was bombed and a 2000lb bomb landed near the Town Hall and behind Pumphreys, 83 houses were destroyed or heavily damaged, the Windmill was the Headquarters for the Fund set up to help those who suffered loss or loss of life.

  2. I used to have the occasional pint in the Windmill early 70’s when one of the regulars in The Regent in Stockton took it over – Mick ???.
