I was a member of the 20th Stockton scout troop which was based in Finkle Street, it was next to the Customs House (derelict) and up some stairs where Fire watchers were posted during the war. I was there from about 1959 as a cub until about 1963 as a senior scout. We had great times exploring all the alley ways etc in the dock area and carrying out our tracking skills! My dad, Len Fellows, was the Group Scout Master and he really loved what he was doing, helping young kids gain confidence and various skills, organising camping and hiking trips for kids that had rarely seen the countryside, all in all great days.
