The ShoeFayre shop was a former Chandler”s for ship supplies. The reason why the Galleon is on the frontage.
Did you know that the Shoe Fayre shop was the only single story building on the high Street, it had a false front above the shop front and nothing behind.
My Mum was born in the left building,in one of the rooms next to Shoefayre. A true Stocktoner, if I may say so.
