  1. Thanks to all for the information on burial plots at Oxbridge Lane Cemetary I will contact them. Also for the update on Trinity Church Preservation.

  2. For all those looking for burial plots, after locating which cemetery from the Stockton Roots site, if you live locally go to the Teesside Archives in Middlesbrough where you can look up the plot details and location for free. Armed with the plot location you will find any of the ground staff eager to help and absolute gems at finding it for you, even if there is no headstone for you to see, which unfortunately is far too often.

  3. Another alternative for J Norman Kidd is to visit Teesside Archives in Middlesbrough. They hold filmed copies of local burial (and cremation) records that may be freely consulted; this can be a little tedious if you have no information at all to start with.

  4. J Norman Kidd, Stockton Registry Office were very helpful in locating the burial plot of my great grandparents in Oxbridge cemetery. There is a small search fee. Trinity church is not being re-built but is being preserved as a ruin.

  5. Norman, if you go to the site Stockton Roots you will be able to check on the burial of your grandparents and by following the link contact the site team will be able to supply you with plot details and location. (For a fee of course)

  6. The last time I was in this building was for a school service for Trinity School with Mr W.Hewitt the Headmaster. I was very upset to find it in such a state. I am correct that it is to be rebuilt or am I imagining that? My Grandparents are buried in Oxbridge Lane Cemetary, Joseph and Ann Kidd. I would like to find their graves if they are still there. Who do I contact to find out please?

  7. It brings great sadness to see the ruins of such a wonderful old church as shown in these photographs of the Trinity Church. Was the fire an act of vandalisim and if so were the culprits ever brought to justice? When I think of all the old buildings that were destroyed by either vandals or town planners as per the Ramsgate area, it makes you think about our history. Even the old Empire should have been restored, and not developed as such. Also the Globe Theatre now just a derelict building. In Australia we go to great lengths to maintain our historical buldings, by maintaining the front facades and developing the interiors, surely something along these lines could have been implemented in the case of Ramsgate.
