  1. Went to a great show at the Odeon 1965, Chuck Berry supported by Brian Auger Trinity, Julie Driscoll,Rod Stewart, LJ. Baldry, and Graham Bond Organisation. (Drummer:Ginger Baker). Afterwards straight to the Maison for the Bluecaps. Great days.

  2. I remember seeing Tony Sheridan in a show at the Odeon in the 60’s, I would guess he was a support act but I can’t remember who topped the bill or even who else was on the show. Can anyone remember the show? The reason he sticks in my mind is that I remember he started to sing one number then stopped and said “I’m sick of singing that one”, he turned and spoke to his backing group and then sang a different number! He had performed with the Beatles in Germany. He died earlier this year.

    • Years ago I had a recording of “Ain’t She Sweet” by Tony Sheridan backed by the Beatles. The record was sent to me from a friend in Germany, where I presume it was recorded.

  3. Charlie and Inez Foxx had a popular record out on Sue records in the 60s, a version of
‘Mockingbird’. they appeared on the television several times, on ‘Ready Steady Go’ or a similar type show.

    • Just listened to it on spotify, they were good, can see why I have thought all these years they were Ike and Tina Turner.

  4. PS… As the Nashville Teens were billed as “Guest Stars” on the Liverpool poster, perhaps they were replaced by another group when the tour came to Stockton.

  5. Hi Bill, take a look at this web link http://www.bradfordtimeline.co.uk/mindex64g.htm scroll down the right hand side and there is a poster for the show at the Liverpool Odeon, eight days before it came to the Odeon at Stockton. Over on the left hand side are the tour dates. Some of the shows featured on this website I saw at Stockton but I couldn’t remember some of the acts mentioned!

I saw the Nashville Teens and Chuck Berry show at Newcastle City Hall – Animals and Carl Perkins were also on the bill . . . . . good days!

    • Interesting link, Brian. I always thought it was Ike and Tina, with the Rolling Stones, turns out it was Charlie and Inez.

      • When I saw the Rolling Stones at the Globe in 1964 one of the supporting acts were Ike and Tina Turner.

      • Mind you when I look at the link I can see where I may be mistaken and there is me thinking I had seen Ike and Tina Turner for all those years, who are Charlie and Inez? They certainly looked and sang like Ike and Tina Turner and they most certainly sang ‘river deep mountain high’.

  6. If I remember correctly the Nashville Teens were on the same bill as the Rolling Stones and
Mariane Faithful, The Nashville Teens were in the Garrick pub on the night.

  7. I went to many concerts at the Odeon and the Globe in the 60’s but not this one, perhaps is was because Bill Haley was on! Also on the bill were the Rockin’ Berries, the Untamed Four (a group discovered by the Animals), Bobby Patrick Big Six, and the Nashville Teens with compare Bob Bain.

    • Brian, I remember seeing the ‘Teens’ in 1964 on the Globe with Chuck Berry, but not this show, are you sure they were on ?

  8. I was at this show, No longer have the program, but also on the bill if I remember correctly
were Johnny Kidd and the Pirates and The Crystals. Plus others I am unsure of.
