Since 1827 there has been many different businesses at 115 High Street, Stockton. These include…
1827 – 1922: The Ship Inn, Public House
1924 – 1959: A Curry, Butchers
1959 – 1971: RJ Morpeth, Furnishers
1972 – 1973: Smiths, TV Rental
1976 – 1996: Leeds Permanent Building, Building Society
Does anyone know which business occupies this building today?
I worked as the Chief Clerk at the Leeds Permanent Building Society Stockton office from when it opened in late March 1976 to February 1979 when I moved to York.
I believe this is now “Slave to the Grind” a coffee shop.
Yeah it is —
I’m just on the lookout to see if there are pictures with any of the other businesses if anyone has any
It was a cosmetic angels then a butterwick hospice I think!
It’s Quant & Quirky tea shop now!
