Photographs of the Earl of Stockton pub, Norton Road being destroyed by fire. The pub opened as the Newlands in the mid 1960’s and was also known as Archers for a short time in the 1980’s. I believe the fire was sometime in the early 1990’s

I remember the Newlands well, it was usually a stopping off pub to have a drink before going over the road to the Fiesta nightclub. My mother and her best friend both worked part time there, it was a good lively pub and several stars often had a drink there before a performance, lovely memories.
