The recent post about the William IV Hotel prompted me to dig out this glass we found in the family home whilst emptying it. “An original glass” from the said Hotel before it was demolished.

My grandmother was shot in the leg in the William IV!! She had popped in for a drink on a hot market day. A local game dealer came in and when he put down his bag containing his shotgun it went off – and several pellets entered poor Louie Plumley’s leg. She suffered from ulcers around that area for the rest of her life. Mind she lived to be 86 so it mustn’t have done her too much harm!
