t12791Yarm Railway Viaduct seen from Aislaby Road and caught in sunlight. This is probably the best place to appreciate this fascinating mid-Victorian feat of brickwork and stone engineering from, as it spans the river Tees and the original town of Yarm in one straight line.

t12903This is a ‘Long Service Award’ for my fathers 20 years service at the ICI.  As you can see it is dated the 1st January 1947 making his starting date there as 1926-27.  I would think that he would be there probably near the start of the ICI at Billingham.

t9141This one of those posts that was lost when we moved to the new site.

The opening of Ropner Park, Stockton on Wednesday 4th October 1893 by the Duke and Duchess of York. Does anyone recognise the building behind the Royal Party?

We have tried to recreate as many of the original comments as possible…

t12857The Salvation Army Hostel located on Palmerston Street, Stockton. Two stones were laid August 19th 1901 by Colonel Ropner MP and Councillor W.E Wardill of Gateshead for God’s Glory and the Welfare of the People.

It appears to have once been a school, does anyone know if this is correct?
