Stockton High Street
This photograph was recently given to me by an elderly relative who told me they show celebrations at the end of the First World War in Stockton. They were taken by her father, Wilfred L Richardson, who was born at 26 Newtown Avenue, Stockton in 1898. The Home and Colonial Store
The Home & Colonial stores were at 96 High Street from 1896-1963 and at 159 High Street from 1928 – 1939. We don’t know which of the stores this image is of but it looks like the shop has been decorated for the railway celebrations, possibly in 1925?
