Dovecot Street in 2006, the Water Board building still remains the same and the Town House building has been built on derelict land that can be seen on the right of the 1956 photograph.

The Unicorn public house on the corner of the High Street is also in the picture as is the Fox and Hounds.

The new building for Stockton YMCA (opened 1968) under construction on Bath Lane included in a general view of the area north of Church Road seen from the Parish Church tower c1967. Also seen is the old swimming baths, a gas holder, the back of the Territorial Armys drill hall and the car park which is the site of the new swimming baths.
