A view of a derelict and boarded-up house in a yard off the south side of Castlegate, seen from Castlegate (previously known as Ferry Lane or Cooks Wynd). In 1825 the building was the Stockton and Darlington Railway terminus. Demolished c1968

Janus Sandefjord. 1949
The Janus Sandefjord with a gross tonnage of 15943 was built at Haverton Hill shipyard by North Eastern Marine it was owned by Anders Jahre. The keel was laid on 3rd December 1948 and the ship was launched on 21st November 1949. The photographs show the ship at sea and entering the harbour. There are also several different views of the interior showing the engine room, chart room, wheelhouse, crew mess room, gangway, captains lounge, crew single cabin, owners day room and the captains day room.

Magwa. 1950
The oil tanker Magwa both at sea and in port. The ship was built at Haverton Hill shipyard by Hawthorn Leslie & Co and was owned by Afran Transport Co.Ltd The ship had a gross tonnage of 16060. The keel was laid on 26th September 1949 and launched on 8th December 1950. There are also views of the wheelhouse, pistons, deck and the engine room.

The whale factory vessel Kosmos with a gross tonnage of 19000 was built by North Eastern Marine at Haverton Hill shipyard and owned by Anders Jahre. The keel was laid on 21st June 1944 and ths ship was launched on 10th July 1948. The ship can be seen under construction and there are views of the deck, engine room and the dining salon
