The building in the distance to the left is the original Billingham Council Office, this was replaced by a new office in Billingham town centre which is now being demolished. Notice a little lad to the left of the photograph who does not seem to be part of the celebrations…
Photograph and details Bruce Coleman.
There have been quite a few comments and photographs on Billingham Town Centre recently, and today another little bit of town centre history will be made when the doors of the Yorkshire Bank at 71 Queensway will close for the very last time. At one time there were two Yorkshire Bank branches in Billingham but as from today there will be none!
Less than 24 hours later and the Yorkshire branch in Billingham is no more… Here are some before and after photographs.

These photographs show the Virginia leaving the River Tees and also at sea.

A view of Yarm Lane looking towards the Empire Theatre which once stood on the corner of Bridge Road and Stockton High Street. We believe the large building on the left still stands today.
This photograph was sent in to us by Keith Stephens and shows the large building mentioned in the above photograph which is still standing today on Yarm Lane.
