Newport Bridge c1933
The foundation stone was laid in 1932 and opened to traffic in 1934 by the Duke of York. The Newport Bridge spans the River Tees, linking Stockton-on-Tees to Middlesbrough.

A view of the Cleveland Flour Mills at Thornaby, seen from the Corporation Quay, Stockton. The mills were established in 1871 and closed in 1960 (1879 Appleton, Richard H and Co., later Appleton, French and co.) The site pre 1871 was occupier by W. Turnbull and Co. shipyards.
