This mystery photo was found among the belongings of Colin Nugent, who lived all his life in Stockton/Norton, after he died in 2009. His relations have no idea what relevance it is to the family – can anyone help?

These photographs are courtesy of Catherine Wright whose Grandad, Ray Carter, can be seen on each image. Ray was employed at Haverton Hill shipyard from 1948 working his way up to Head Supervisor by 1969.

The black & white images were taken at Smiths Dock c1930-40. The colour image was taken at Swan Hunter, Haverton on the other side of the river c1970.
