We believe this photograph to have been taken c1955. It shows a Church Parade walking through Port Clarence.
Unfortunately we don’t have any more information, maybe someone can help?
Norton backline 1958. The train in the foreground is connected with a Sunday track repair operation on the line between Norton West (right of picture) and Norton East (left of picture). This line still exists today. Of interest is the expanse of fields in the background which are now entirely built upon. The houses visible in the distance above the locomotive’s boiler are nos 125-133 Junction Road which at that time were all newly built. (I lived in no 131, the nearest of the semis). Above the guard’s van of the train can be seen the glasshouses of the nursery which existed opposite Norton East signalbox at that time but now long gone.

Photographs of the demolition of the Thorpe Thewles Railway viaduct, 1979. These photographs were taken by my dad who was a serving Police Sargeant at the time, they were taken from one of the farmers fields on the left side of the A177, up from the Horse and Jockey. I was about 11 years old as I watched the viaduct being demolished.

A view of the south side of the Castle Brewery yard on Bridge Road, Stockton. Included in the photograph is a metal tank surrounded by bricks. The brewery was opened in 1858 by W.K & J.Kirk. The brewery was closed in c1930 and later demolished in 1969. In the distance the old Stockton County Courts can be seen c1967.
