Castle Theatre Foundation Stone c1907

t4539A photograph presumably of the Mayor of Stockton; Alderman John Harrison Esq. as he stands behind the foundation stone as the construction of the Castle Theatre gets underway c1907. The theatre was completed in 1908 and once occupied the area where the former Swallow Hotel now stands.

A view of Stockton Hospital which was built in 1862. We believe this image to have been taken c1909. Does anyone know where it was located?

We have tried to recreate as many of the original comments as possible…

The Prince of Wales visits Teesside c1930

t570The Prince of Wales came to visit Teesside on 2nd July 1930. His visit included a trip down the River Tees and a visit to the huge chemical factories of the Synthetic, Ammonia and Nitrates Co. Ltd. in Billingham. His Royal Highness is pictured in the photographs with Sir Hugh Bell and several civic dignitaries.
